I just got from a vacation and took a couple of books with me; one of which was “Profitable Practice – Why a Dental Practice is an Exceptional Investment” by Timothy Brown. I must congratulate you on writing an exceptional book. It offers some great advice, especially on the issues of staff management and the pros of buying an existing practice versus setting up a new one. If I were one of the Deans at any of the universities with a dental program, I would be mandating it as a compulsory text book as well as a course. I believe that it would be very helpful for the students who need to realize that they have to pay their dues and learn from the more experienced colleagues just what it takes to run a business as well as give them an opportunity to learn from some of our mistakes. Great insight on some financials as well! I wish that I had read this book 5 years ago and not committed some of the expensive financial mistakes that I am still paying for to this day.

I had been an Associate for 7 years. But after hopping from one dead-end Associateship to another while balancing motherhood, I decided to take a leap of faith and plunge into business ownership.
